Teased with a mysterious piece of Mass Effect 5 concept art on N7

For N7 Day, BioWare has teased the next Mass Effect game with some concept art that looks like a massive relay being built or rebuilt.

A video of the slightly moving concept art was posted on Twitter, along with a short message from BioWare. If you really want to take a closer look, You can also download it in HD.

“#N7Happy day among the stars! 💫 We found this interesting footage you want to see 🔍 a little closer.”

Mike Gamble, project manager for the upcoming Mass Effect game, also shared some words about the future of the series.

“Nearly 15 years since the first Mass Effect was released, the biggest reason we still love working on it is the warmth, dedication, and passion of this community,” Gamble wrote. “There are some of you who have been with us through it all. We’ve grown together, we’ve sacrificed together Ashley, (Or editor’s note: Or Kaidan, Mike! We all make different choices) we’ve faced hardships together…and we’ve laughed until our faces were dry. Tired …together! And for those of you new to Mass Effect (thanks, Legendary Edition!), welcome! I swear there are many years of fun, adventure, and characters you’ll fall in love with ahead of you.

“No matter when you joined, through four games and more expansions, I can confidently say that we’re in this for you, and every N7 Day is a wonderful reminder of that. Looking forward, it’s every week. A fun and exciting challenge for the team. We love bringing this universe to life, and although there is much more that we want to share with you, it will have to be for another time.

“For now, there’s something we want you to see. We’ve intercepted some strange footage from a known space monitoring station. It can’t be anything, but…” After the message, the image above was revealed. .

Spoilers ahead for the ending of Mass Effect 3.

This image could very well indicate that Mass Effect 3’s Destroy ending will be the canon ending. In this ending, Shepard was able to destroy the Reaper threat, but in doing so all the mass relays – the piece of Reaper technology that allowed them to travel through space – were destroyed.

The image may hint that they are being rebuilt with the new technology of today as the Reapers would disappear under the Destroy ending. The first teaser for this new Mass Effect game seemed to include Liara, so it would make sense for this story to be a continuation if not a direct sequel.

Another possibility is that humans or another species discovered how to create mass relays. Really, anything is possible!

The image is accompanied by text that reads: “Vacuum-doc Relay Construction Record / Monitoring Station Operated Green Dagger Ltd. Property of Deepspace Dhow SAV / Ship Captain: Sub-Navarch Soa’Rhal Zhilian-Jones.”

If we try to break the text, we find out that this monitoring station is managed by Green Dagger Ltd., which is a company from the Mass Effect universe that we have not yet met. We don’t even know the name of the ship’s captain.
